Militants attack police station in Lakki Marwat and kill four officers

Authorities claims the attack was launched by outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) which carried out series of attacks on security forces in recent months.

Four police officers died on Saturday when suspected militants attacked police station in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkwa province in Pakistan.

Local media reports that another four officers were also injured in the attack that happened late night Saturday at Burgai police station.

A police spokesman disclosed that the attackers used rocket launchers and hand grenades.

“They stormed the police station in large numbers,” he said.

Special operation is underway to apprehend the terrorists, police spokesman said on Sunday.
