The UK has described a possible ceasefire in Ukraine as meaningless.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated that there can be no successful ceasefire at a time when Russian troops are still active in territories considered to be Ukrainian.
Moscow's call for a ceasefire makes no sense, he said, noting that it would be a false call used by Russia to regroup and reinforce its troops.
Sunak was quoted by his office as saying in a meeting with his Joint Expeditionary Force counterparts that there can be no real negotiation until Moscow withdraws from conquered territory.
